Linux Hacks
Make bootable USB drive
- install UNetBootin on Win7 host (it is just easier, stupid active bit) (NOTE: Linux version works now, use drive tool in Ubuntu to flip the boot bit)
- download ISO image you want to use. (Also includes lots of defaults)
- use diskimage option and lay down iso
- open command window as admin (left click on option and run as administrator)
- run diskpart
- command: list disk (ID USB drive, probably 1)
- command: select disk 1
- command select partition 1
- active
- exit
Using Linux Only
- # sudo fdisk /dev/hdX
- “m” for help and “p” for list of partitions (figure out which is main, probably 1)
- “a” to activate the one
- “q” quits without saving and “w” will write changes and quit.
