Had quite an interesting couple days. Snow on the weekend, followed by some sunny afternoons. Today was clear and almost warm outside, until around 5pm. Then a system blew through and we had hail for about an hour with lots of thunder and lighting. Enough hail actually that it looked like it snowed. Weirdness.

I now understand why the smoke flavored almonds have this horrible gritty goo on them. It is to save you from eating the whole can in one sitting.

We had a small snow storm this weekend. Started Friday afternoon for a couple hours and again Saturday morning. We had a small dusting at our house on Saturday, just enough for me to show Isaac how to make snowballs. Sunday we woke up to about an inch and it stuck around for most of the day. Isaac had quite a bit of fun playing in it. Some pictures from late Sunday.
I sure didn’t get much done this weekend. The biggest thing I can point to is that I replaced a light switch that went bad downstairs. I’d never actually had a light switch go bad before, it was a little weird. It actually failed closed in the off position. The thing I can never believe is how many trips to the garage it takes to fix something so small. I must have made a half dozen trips to find the right breaker. (I’m slowly relabeling them. The original labels are something like, “Lights”. Of which there are five or six) Then a couple more trips to get all the necessary tools.

In her new Exersaucer, Elanor looks uncannily like a tiny super-villain, orchestrating Earth’s apocalypse.

So if you have been watching my “official” blog, I haven’t updated it in a long time. Why? Because I finally got WordPress working on my home box. But I didn’t re-direct stuff, because I wanted to play with it a while and then just put in a simple re-direct. But then I couldn’t remember how to setup the re-direct and if I couldn’t figure it out in 90 seconds, I didn’t have time to-do.
Well a couple things finally happen. This ham radio conference I was chairman for finally happen. Well actually it is happening right now. I am taking a 10 minute break from being host/chairman/Grand Pooh-bah. (Yes, my name tag says I’m the Grand Pooh-bah.) So I just did the test and the re-direct works and I’m about to put it in place.
I think I’ll probably re-direct all traffic to the wordpress blog.

From Merlin Mann’s twitter feed:
“Listen, not *every* droid who understands the binary language of moisture evaporators is automatically gay, Okay? That’s an ugly stereotype.
Follow up post:
“And, yes, smartass, some of my best friends are protocol droids.”

There seems to be only three types of bus drivers in Seattle.
1. The type that goes 5 miles under the speed limit at all times and randomly likes to stop, just in case. (accounts for ~45%)
2. The type that thinks this is their own personal race track. Trying to stay standing is now a full contact sport and if your lucky enough to get a seat, you wish it came with seat belts. (accounts for ~45%)
3. The rare and wonderful in between driver. Understands how to get up to speed with throwing you around, starts the stopping process we’ll before they actually need to stop and doesn’t make the bus weave around the high way. (accounts for last 10%)
At some point I need to make a pointer to the new blog…..

After quite a bit of time I have finally figured out WordPress. Come to find out WordPress wasn’t the problem, rather it was mysql. Sometimes this free stuff just doesn’t make sense to me. So after nearly a two years of doing things the old fashion way (meaning VIM and manually creating html), I’m back to using real blogging software.
So to kick things off, why HoleNWall? Because I’m a huge fan of the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
