Tomatoes, Boats and Antennas
My WRT54G got Tomato-ized last week – I wanted a way to track my bandwidth usage with the upcoming Comcast lock down and that seemed like the easy way to get it. I’m impressed with the firmware/image. It isn’t quite as “pretty” as the default Linksys stuff, but it sure has a ton of features and really isn’t all that more difficult to setup.
Last night I got roped into helping a friend clean the bottom of his boat. It was fun to get in the water after nearly a year of being dry. The marina wasn’t to icky either, which is nice. I’m always amazed at the stuff that grows on the bottom of boats. The funny thing was Isaac hosing me down after I got out. Pictures are here.
Next weekend is the big antenna party and I’m not ready yet. I’m still having problems getting the antenna to fit the measurements in the instructions. Basically the sum of the parts is not matching what it should, even though all the parts are right. I’ve been working on it in between mowing the lawn. (Since I’m having to move the antenna to get the back yard mowed.) I’m also sweating like a pig out there, so I have to keep running in for water breaks.
Just a quick plug for iTunes 8. I’m loving the Genius feature….
