NOTE: COE = document one must write following a major screw up, which describes how the screw up happen and what your going to-do to make sure ie never happens again.
NOTE2: m.com is what Amazon calls the websites we run for other companies.
NOTE3: rainier team = the team I use to be on….
NOTE4: I never got to learn the 'art of the dragon' and I'm a little bummed about that.

COE?!? Really??
Come on guys. What is that going to read like? "The rainier team will add a
monitor to our metrics dashboard. That monitor will tell upper management and TAM how many times the rainier team has flown to the Adobe offices and like ninjas infiltrated their build nodes and absconded with the latest flash build.
We will also report on how that dev version of flash runs on every m.com,
because ninjas take no time to do anything. The rainier team will be
requesting a slight increase in budget and head count to meet this
requirement as we need grappling hooks and a ninja master to teach us the
art of the dragon."

Sorry to Ben, this was just to funny to not share…..

I switched back to my standing desk this morning at work. I've been using one for nearly a year and love it. (Nearly all my sore neck problems went away!) But when I tore the ACL, there was just no way it was going to work and I switched to a normal desk. But today, which is exactly two months since my surgery, I am back to standing. I didn't make the switch until nearly lunch time, so I've only been standing really half a day, but so far all is good. I still take breaks and sit down, but I was doing that before and my knee feels about like it did last week when I sat all day.
The second major milestone is dropping back to seeing my physical therapists only once a week. When we talked about it last week, he said that he just didn't need to see me more then once a week now and that I'd probably drop to even less once I see my surgeon again at the end of May. He also talked to me about going back to TKD, because he knows that has been a focus for me. He said that I should ask for very specific milestones from my surgeon when I see him in three weeks. Meaning when can I start kicking again, when I can use my new knee to plant for kicking with the other side, making actual contact when kicking, running, jumping, etc. He suggested I schedule visits around these milestones, so he can evaluate me doing them before starting for real. This was actually a major confidence booster for me, because when I started he didn't seem to positive on me going back this quickly.
There is one more big thing happening today, I get to go back to TKD class tonight! I've been patiently waiting since I saw my surgeon two weeks ago, because he gave me the go ahead if I followed a long list of rules. The first two hurdles were waiting for the two month mark and having the swelling under control. Today I declare victory on those! The list of rules is long, there is fewer things I can do then can't actually. But I have faith that Master Strongheart and Master Wells are going to help me make it work. I have had so much support from everybody at the Mercer Island Martial Arts center actually, I really can't express how much it has helped.
I'm declaring May the month of punching, since that is mainly what I'll be allowed to-do. Punching is good, I can slowly work my way back from there.
Wish me luck!

Trying the new Thai place up the street from work. First new place I’ve tried in months. Major rut….
Someone is about to enjoy a donut. http://t.co/vQNzWpDF
All complaining aside, the first two talks were good at #linuxfestnw Wished the first was more beginner, but the second was right on target.
Second problem with LinuxFest. Single lunch option and very slow generation. Betting line is 45min wait…
Same old problem as before with LinuxFest. Some talks are just to popular and you can’t get into them.
Today I go to LinuxFest and geek out, while Rosie and Isaac go hiking. Tomorrow we are doing Dan Days. One of best things about Bellingham is the food, had a great breakfast in Fairhaven. Just a block up the hill from our hotel.
