My family is all home this morning, a typical Sunday means we are all off doing stuff, but today we are all home. I’m sitting in the big chair in the living and realized how surrounded I am with Apple stuff. On my lap is my MacBookPro, I’m watching last weeks episode of ThisWeekinGoogle on my iPad-mini. My wife’s iPad-mini is laying on the floor, her iPhone is laying on the couch. My son’s iPad-mini is sitting somewhere, I can only see the top half of the case right now. In front of me is the TV stand, which there is a AppleTV in the black void. Then my new Drobo 5N is sitting by the fire place, I got it for Christmas and haven’t moved it to the server shelf downstairs yet. (I have to say, I’m amazed at how quiet it is, I have yet to be to concern with the noise.)
Oh yea, I also took all the pictures with my own iPhone…
The WWARA membership meeting was Saturday, which was pretty normal. Had a really nice lunch with WA7FUS and N7SS when it was over. On the way home I got a text from KK7TR that the new MotoTRBO repeater was live on Cougar. So when I got home, I got serious about getting the radio on the air. I had put up a simple antenna and run the coax for it a couple weeks ago. All I needed todo was put PowerPoles on the power cable and plug it in. That is all I thought I needed todo until I realized the antenna connector was a mini-UHF connector. I’d never seen one before and I certainly didn’t have any adapters for it.
So after going swimming with Isaac and having lunch at BurgerMaster, we made a trip to Fry’s. Took a while to find, but finally walked out with the necessary adaptor. I was on the air and in a QSO within 10 minutes of getting home. I have to say MotoTRBO sure sounds better then D-STAR. I have lots of playing todo, but it looks fun.
By this time Isaac and Rosie were home with the tree and I helped get it set up. I then attacked the washing machine. It had stopped cycling normally a month ago. We have been using the gentle cycle, since it was the only one that didn’t stop half way through the rense cycle. I had done some internet searches and found a place that diagnoses the problem, helped me order the part and had a video showing how to fix it. The part showed up last week, so I tore into it. The video was a little off, but close enough and now we can wash our cloths normally again.
Now I just need to finish a little work work and I can relax!
Someone in front of me just asked where the meat went in a burrito. Really? They let you wonder around without supervision?
How sad is it that I rewired the servers so I could get our internet link back while on the generator? http://t.co/hPz4Mfggy4
I just backed Sherlock Holmes – A playing card deck on @kickstarter kck.st/1cyPXqw
Had to power up the generator to take a shower after TKD. We lost power right as I got home!
Like an idiot, I've been putting up with two major 'issues' since upgrading my iMac to Mavericks. This evening I spent more then 60 seconds trying to figure them out and solved both of them. (in between handing out candy to the goblins and ghouls.)
There is a work around to make Synergy work and Amazon Cloud drive requires Java….

Crazy traffic day, all those in Seattle beware.
Woke up to beautiful fall morning. Heading to TKD class soon and then some #hamradio fun. Got some antenna work that needs doing.
