Finally made it to the #hamr D-STAR workshop. Don’t get the ‘how a net works’ talk, barely d-star… But the speaker is pretty good.
Rosie’s plane just gets later and later every time I check on it….
When I got home tonight, the first piece of my homebrew D-STAR repeater was on the door step. The Kenwood TKR-820 I bought off eBay arrived. I’m basically going to clone most of what John-K7VE has done. I have ordered a set of duplexers and the actual modem board. I need to track down someone who has the programming software for the repeater next.
My hope/plan is to get all the pieces, so over the Christmas break I can take a couple days and put it together. I think that is doable. The biggest unknown is the modem board and getting the repeater re-programmed. I’m going to bug John more about it this weekend at the D-STAR workshop down in Federal Way.
Based on the evidence in front of me, people who go to Panera also own Macs. (6 people with computers, macs)
dozed on couch watching movie with Isaac, now can’t get to sleep….
@vareck She is going to be in Boston for 3 days for work.
Up way to early to take Rosie to the airport. Going to miss her alot…
Finally got new cable mdm working right, blog and home server now hanging off static IP. Full blog post coming…
Made small step forward with putting home network back together. Internal DHCP is now handing out the right DNS servers. On to new cablemdm!
