At my database class – hurry up and make smart!
Isaac made it for three innings, not bad. He only made one last time…
No w00tstock, but we do have a sad baseball game. http://yfrog.com/4c8aykj

@vareck So how are you going to get all 6 of them in your MBP? ;-)
I love Fatburger!
Back from my afternoon run to Vetco Electronics. Man I love that place, so many great little pieces for projects I must build.
So the week before last, Rosie comes down with this serious head cold ick. This is strange for two reasons, the first is that she almost never gets sick enough to miss work (she was out for two days) and second, she didn’t get it from Isaac or me. By Friday she is finally feeling better, she basically slept for two days to get over it. So with her feeling better we all headed north Friday evening to Bellingham and the NW LinuxFest. What I don’t get is how the ick managed to say around long enough to get me the next week? Come Tuesday I was certainly not feeling great, I probably should have stayed home Wednesday, but had to many meeting. Thursday I was out, I got Isaac to school and then crawled back into bed. Repeat for most of Friday, by the afternoon I was starting to feel a little more normal and today I’m just cleaning the last bit it of it out of my system.
So this is about catching up. I’m still in spring cleaning mode at the moment. I got my old Macbook boxed up and listed on Craig’s List this morning. I had several offers within an hour and am scheduled to met someone at 1:30 to sell it. I was a little concerned about the low price, but I guess getting almost 40% back of what I paid for it four years ago isn’t to bad. I also took the trailer full of garage to the dump this morning, was there when they opened, so it was quick. At the moment I have a pile of files on the floor that need sorted, most will go to my “off site” storage, meaning the plastic box in the garage.
That leaves the LinuxFest trip report. I’m a little sad about that, because I honestly can’t give it a very high mark this year. This was my fourth year attending and something changed. I don’t know the back story, but if I were to guess, I’d say they had a major changing of the guard. The whole event just didn’t seem to be as well organized this year. The attendance was WAY down, both in vendors/booths and people. Who ever organized the talks didn’t seem to have a clue, because they put all of the same sort of talks at the same time. The quality of speakers also seemed a little off, it was obvious some were really not prepared. (more in the sense they didn’t know their audience vs. not having slides ready) It was all very sad, since I have really enjoyed it in years past.
One more random note. I have been writing about my activities setting up a ham radio conference over at the MicroHAMS website. I’ll probably write another post this weekend, since we just closed on the ARRL sponsorship and confirmed our second to last speaker.
