I’ve been silent for a while, things as always have been super busy. Quick catch-up…
1) I went diving on my yearly Hornby Island trip the first weekend of the month. This is a trip I’ve been taking for nearly 10 years now with a bunch of friends from MSFT. It is always fun, I don’t even mind the long drive up there because I get to take six ferry boat rides. And I love ferry boat rides. :-)
2) My birthday weekend we drove to Oregon for the Rickerall hamfest. This is my favorite ham fest, mainly because it was the first I ever went to and also because they continue to have a decent flea market. Well this year you really noticed the pending changes in ham radio. The back building was nearly empty of tables, but even that said it was still better then any ham fest in Washington. Since we were down in Oregon, we spent the night with my parents. It was fun, the weather was sort of nice and I got to run around the fields with Isaac and give him a horse ride.
3) Last weekend was sort of catch up and being sick. It started out Friday night with going to a dinner and movie with Rosie. (Again for my b-day) Isaac did great with the sitter, he wasn’t freaked out about it or anything. Then Saturday we all went to Alki beach and played, it was still a little cold, but was starting to feel like spring. Then Sunday Isaac started getting sick and started running a fever. We ended up hanging out most of the day at home watching movies and stuff like that.
I’m now hiding out in Tully’s trying to get my yearly review wrote. I’m tired of writing up stuff that already happen, about stuff which probably won’t have any significant impact on my review. (Which is basically already done) One really good thing which happen is that I nailed down the last speaker for the MicroHAMS digital conference. So I have a full agenda now, which takes a huge load off my mind.

1/2 bottle of pepto and 2hr nap – I’m finally starting to feel normal

Had an interesting day. Almost got the stupid TPS report done early, but the internal metric collection system decided to freak out. Spent several hours trying to trick it into working and only managed to get NA done, no EU or JP. To make matters worst, right around lunch time I got sick. Like run to the bathroom at high rates of speed sick. So I threw in the towel and came home. Like my twitter said, 1/2 bottle of pepto and a nap made things better.
While at home I spent some time trying to figure out why after upgrading our broadband speed, my bittorrents were going slower. I started by resetting the cable modem, which didn’t do any good. Then I decided to try torrenting something on my linux box and was presto, it clicked along just like normal. So that means Transmission on the mac was “unhappy”, so I whacked the plist file and presto the mac was happy again. (I was in a presto kind of mood today)
