Riding last bus to eastside – had drinks with team. Been a long week
We had a pretty big issue Monday night, a couple of our devs were up all night fixing it and the rest of the team spent Tuesday cleaning it up. I just finally finished the last of the process crap today before coming home. These things happen, I understand that. But man it sucks when it is self inflected.
Other then that it has been pretty boring. I’ve been oncall at night, so I’ve had several pages to deal with and otherwise it has been damn hot. Hot enough we are running the portable AC most of the night. I’m looking forward to this weekend when it is suppose to cool down and we can relax a little.
BTW – I caught up on Dennis’s blog last night. I’m getting worried about him, it sounds like he is getting to the same point I was before I got ejected from MSFT. I hope he figures out a way to deal or makes the jump to some place healther.
IBM is trying to do away with MSFT software.
It is so easy to-do today….
Kelly says,
“Kenny’s journal looks a little weird, it’s got what looks like stub
entries for some stuff and full entries for others.”
That would be my twitter updates vs. regular blog entries. I tied my twitter account to my blog, so I can dump quick little thoughts (done via my cell phone normally) into the blog.
Catch up with the times man!
Had my first real problem with XP activation this morning. My niece’s computer stop working and I had her bring it up to rebuild this weekend. So I flatten the box, put XP home back on it and the PID wouldn’t work. (Said I’d used it to many times) Now I know that isn’t the case because I bought a copy of XP home specifically for this box when I built it. I know it has only been used for her computer because the box has been in Oregon, so I couldn’t even get the PID if I’d wanted to. I have re-installed several times, but each time has been months apart.
So I called the 800 number and finally got through to India this morning. I jumped through all the voice mail hoops and read the lady some huge number that I’d already entered and then she gave me a new one that unlocked it. Pretty annoying because the most that has changed on the box is the video card. (I had to upgrade it for her games a while back)
It just got done downloading SP3, so hopefully the updating cycle is almost done….
